Erdogan declared state of emergency in Turkey for three months, — media

Dushanbe, 21.07.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in Turkey for three months, TASS news agency reported quoting Al Jazeera TV channel.
«Members of the Turkish Security Council decided to recommend the government to declare a state of emergency in the country for three months to be able to quickly react to actions of all possible terrorist organizations,» the TV channel quoted Erdogan as saying.
A group of insurgents took an abortive coup attempt in Turkey late on July 16. The main confrontation took place in Ankara and Istanbul. The country’s leaders announced later that the coup attempt had been thwarted. According to the latest reports, 208 Turkish nationals died, 100 insurgents were killed and about 1,500 people were injured.
