Outcomes of the High-level International Conference “Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism” discussed in Saudi Arabia
DUSHANBE, 31.05.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On May 30, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Zarobiddin Kosimi held a press briefing on the results of the High-level Conference on “Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism”, which was held on May 3-4, 2018 in Dushanbe.
According to the MFA Information Department, it was paid great attention to the history and practice of peace-building in Tajikistan and unique efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon in providing peace and stability, as well as the propaganda of moderate Islam and methods of preventing religious extremism.
The participants were also provided with detailed information on the international water initiatives of Tajikistan, and the effective use of the country’s rich water resources. It was also reported that on June 20-22, 2018 in Tajikistan will be held the High-Level International Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028.
The exchange of views was also held on the issues of development of cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, attraction of investors and tourists, including the opening of direct air flights between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.
