DUSHANBE, 13.09.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. VI International Judo Competitions for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan will be held on October 2-5 at the Dushanbe Tennis Palace.

The competitions are organized at the initiative of the Judo Federation of Tajikistan in cooperation with the Executive body of state authority of Dushanbe, the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in seven weight categories between men. Athletes from foreign countries are invited to participate in the competitions.

Earlier the competitions were organized in absolute weight, this year the athletes will compete among themselves in the usual weight of judo between men: up to 60 kg, up to 66 kg, up to 73 kg, up to 81 kg, up to 90 kg, up to 100 kg, and over 100 kg.

The winners along with medals and diplomas will also be awarded cash prizes. The Judo Federation of Tajikistan will award 10 thousand TJS for the first place, 5,000 TJS for the second and 3,000 TJS for the third.

It should be noted that the competitions for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan are being held since 2013. Three times (in 2013-2015) they were held in Dushanbe. In 2013, Ukrainian Vitaly Dudchik in weight up to 81 kg and Islom Al-Shahabi of Egypt won in absolute weight. In the finals, Dudchik won over a Tajik wrestler Farhod Rahimov and Al-Shahobi over another Tajik wrestler Muhammadmurod Abdurahmonov.

Then two times Muhammadmurod Abdurahmonov became the winner of the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In 2014, he defeated his compatriot Ziyoratsho Barotov in the final battle for the main prize. In the final of 2015, Abdurahmonov won over Alexander Vakhovyak from Belarus.

The fourth international competitions for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan were held in 2016 in Vahdat city with the participation of 45 athletes from 15 countries. Stanislav Bondarenko from Ukraine, who defeated Alex Garcia of Cuba in the final, was awarded the Cup, a gold medal and a cash prize of 56,000 TJS.

We will recall that the Fifth International Judo Competitions for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was held on 5th October 2017 at the newly erected stadium in Vahdat. The wrestlers of 15 countries, such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Germany, Nepal, Japan, Belarus, Armenia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, the USA and Cuba competed in the competitions among themselves in weight of 90 kg.

The 2017 International Judo Competitions for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan were also attended by such well-known Tajik wrestlers as Komronshohi Ustopiriyon, Jahongir Majidov, Saidjalol Saidov, Akmaliddin Murodov, Saidjamol Alimardonov and Gazalshohi Davlatshoh.

Among these Tajik athletes, only Saidjalol Saidov, Komronshohi Ustopiriyon and Saidjamol Alimardonov managed to win prizes.

Tajik wrestlers Saidjalol Saidov and Komronshohi Ustopirion defeated their opponents in a weight of 90 kg and made their way to the final. In the final, Saidjalol Saidov and Komronshohi Ustopiriyon competed among themselves.

Saidjalol Saidov won over Komronshohi Ustopiriyon and became the winner of the Fifth International Judo Competitions for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Komronshoh ranked second place, another Tajik wrestler — Saidjamol Alimardonov and athlete from Kyrgyzstan Shahriyor Idrisov took two third places.
