DUSHANBE, 05.07.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – According to meteorologists, last month was the hottest June ever recorded. The average air temperature on the planet increased by 0.1 degrees Celsius than during the previous warmest June in 2016.

Throughout Europe, the average temperature increased two degrees Celsius above normal, and in some countries the difference reached ten degrees.

Last two weeks Tajikistan saw an increase in temperature, reaching up to 45C. Today, the Hydrometeorology Agency of Tajikistan has again reported about an increase in temperature. We decided to find out what weather we can expect until the end of July.

“Dry and hot weather awaits residents and guests of Tajikistan until the end of July. In daytime, in Dushanbe, Khatlon and districts of republican subordination temperatures are expected to rise to 40C. Previously, such temperatures were observed in 2004. However, one cannot say that such weather is atypical for our country,” said the head of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Hydrometeorology Agency of Tajikistan Jamila Baidullaeva, adding that July is always the hottest and driest, because it’s the height of the summer season.

Today, experts at the Hydrometeorology Agency can make accurate weather forecasts only for the upcoming ten days. Forecast for a more extended period are prepared in collaboration with the Hydrometeorological Centers of Uzbekistan and Russia. Therefore, now it is too early to talk about what weather awaits us later in autumn and winter. However, folk  wisdom dictates that if the summer is hot and dry, the winter will likely be cold and frosty.

During heat waves doctors recommend drinking more water, wearing light-colored clothing made from natural fabrics, staying indoors or limiting one’s time outdoors from 11:00 to 17:00, and using sunscreen. These recommendations apply especially to children and elderly people, as their bodies react more acutely to increases in temperature.
