Tajikistan, Turkey discussed cooperation in combating transnational crime
Dushanbe, 08.01.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — Issues related to cooperation in combating transnational crime, such as terrorism, extremism and illegal drug trafficking were discussed on January 7 at the meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant-General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to Tajikistan Ahmet Asim Arar.
During the meeting it was noted that the range of interaction is carried out under the Agreement on legal cooperation in civil, trade and criminal cases since May 6, 1996. Also, cooperation is strengthened between the two ministries on the basis of the Agreement between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in combating international terrorism, illegal drug and psychotropic substances trafficking and organized crime since November 7, 2011.
Ahmet Asim Arar noted that the cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan is successfully developed, especially in the fight against transnational crime.
Following the meeting the sides expressed their interest in further strengthening of mutual cooperation.
