Dushanbe, 22. 01. 2016 (NIAT «Khovar») .- Today, the Founder of peace and national unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting on the ways to ensure sustainable economic development, prosperity of the consumer market and stabilize the exchange rate of the national currency in the country.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, his first deputy, chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, heads of ministries and departments of finance and economic bloc, the tax authority and the customs service, the state financial control and fight against corruption, the Accounting Chamber and law enforcement bodies.

It was emphasized that the depreciation of the national currency against foreign currencies for financial, credit and currency market of Tajikistan is mainly done by artificial means by individual stakeholders.

Referring to the experience of advanced countries of the world, it was stressed that the exchange of currencies should be established only in the main office, branch offices and service centers of banks in order to prevent any kind of fraud and speculation on the part of stakeholders, ignorant of the national and state interests.

President Emomali Rahmon instructed the responsible persons in the shortest possible time to develop and submit amendments to the existing legislation on banking system with respect to currency regulation and responsibility for its violation.

According to the instructions of the Head of State in the new edition of the Criminal Code and other relevant legislation must be envisaged responsibility, including criminal responsibility, for the withdrawal from the country of a large amount of foreign currency, and for the purchase and sale on the territory of the country in foreign currency.

Specific instructions were given concerning the provision of abundance and low prices in the consumer market, reducing the negative impact of various external factors on the socio-economic situation of the country.
