Lavrov, Kerry agreed additional parameters for ceasefire in Syria
Dushanbe, 22.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry have agreed additional parameters of ceasefire in Syria, the Russian foreign ministry said on Sunday after a telephone conversation between the two top diplomats. TASS News Agency reports.
“Two more telephone conversations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry were held in the evening on February 21. The sides agreed additional parameters for the ceasefire regime in Syria. The results of the conversations are being reported to Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States”, — the ministry said.
It was the third telephone conversation between the two countries’ top diplomats on Sunday and the fourth one in the past two days. Earlier on Sunday, Lavrov and Kerry “continued discussing modality and terms for stopping military actions in Syria, with the exception for the operation against organizations, which the UN Security Council has confirmed as terrorist organizations”, — the Russian foreign ministry said.
