Next Round of Intra-Syria Talks to Begin Before Mid-April
Dushanbe, 25.03.2016 (NIAT “Khovar”). – The start of the next round of intra-Syrian talks has been set for the first ten days of April, before parliamentary elections in Syria, Syrian oppositional High Negotiations Committee (HNC) spokesman Salem al-Mouslad told TASS Thursday, “Khovar” reports quoting TASS.
«The next round will begin before April 10, and not after [parliamentary] elections in Syria,» al-Mouslad said when answering the question whether the terms of resumption of talks were discussed with special envoy of the UN Secretary-General on Syria Staffan de Mistura.
Parliamentary elections in Syria are scheduled for April 13.
The latest round of talks between the Syrian government and opposition forces kicked off on March 14 in Geneva and is due to recess on Thursday.
