UK Queen Elizabeth II accepts Cameron’s resignation
British Queen Elizabeth II has accepted the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron who filed a relevant request earlier Wednesday.
According to TASS news agency, Cameron has already left the Buckingham Palace.
As Cameron’s successor on the post Theresa May has not yet officially taken the office of the new head of the ruling Tory cabinet, there is a vacuum at the moment in the United Kingdom’s executive power structure. It will soon be filled as the monarch will vest May with premier powers within minutes.
May and her husband Philip have already arrived at the Buckingham Palace.
