Heads of Security Councils of Tajikistan and Russia discussed topical issues of cooperation
Dushanbe, 05.10.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. A consultative meeting of experts of the Security Councils of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation was held on October 4 in Dushanbe. During the event the parties have discussed the issues related to military-political situation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and its possible impact on countries in the region, including the Russian Federation, fight against international terrorism, illegal migration and joint action to resolve the migration process and support Tajik migrant workers.
Within the framework of this event, the Secretary of Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdurahim Qahhorov held “tete-a-tete” meeting with his Russian counterpart Nikolay Patrushev. After the meeting, the parties have signed a Plan of cooperation between the Security Councils of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation for the period of 2017-2018.
The Secretary of Security Council of Russia N. Patrushev invited his Tajik counterpart A. Qahhorov to participate in the 4th meeting of secretaries of Security Council of the CIS countries, which will take place in November 2016 in Moscow.
It should be noted that during the meeting the parties have also considered issues of military and military-technical cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, as well as preparation for the joint meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Defense and Secretaries of Security Councils of CSTO member states, which will be held in the coming days in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.
We remind that the meeting of experts of the Security Councils of the two countries was also attended by experts of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
