Tajikistan and Afghanistan to strengthen cooperation in combating crime
Dushanbe, 14.10.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan and Afghanistan intend to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, illegal drug trafficking and arms trading, the official website of MIA RT reports.
This decision was made at the meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Ramazon Rahimzoda Hamro with his Afghan counterpart Taj Mohammed Jahid.
“In recent years, the cooperation between Internal Affairs agencies of two countries within the framework of bilateral and multilateral agreements is strengthened, which contributes to the development of cooperation between Interior Ministries of Tajikistan and Afghanistan in the field of combating organized crime, illegal drug trafficking”, — notes the website of law enforcement agency.
Taj Mohammed Jahid has expressed readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajik counterparts in all relevant areas.
At the meeting the parties have discussed important issues related to the fight against crime, especially transnational and organized, as well as in the field of exchange of experience and information, cross-border cooperation, and other relevant aspects.
