Earthquake of 4.8 magnitude strikes central Italy
Dushanbe, 03.11.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. An earthquake of 4.8 magnitude has struck central Italy, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said on Thursday.
The earthquake was registered at 2:35am local time. The epicenter lay in 134 kilometers to the north of Rime and in 55 kilometers to the east of Perugia that suffered from the October 26 earthquake. The epicenter lay at the depth of eight kilometers.
On October 26, two earthquakes of 5.4 and 5.9 magnitude respectively were registered between the Macerata and Perugia. The tremors mostly affected towns in the central part of the Appalachian mountains but aftershocks were felt across Italy, including in Rome, TASS reported.
On August 24, a powerful earthquake struck Italy, killing 300 people.
