Dushanbe, 15.11.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. In the Republic of Tajikistan in honor of the Day of the President, which is celebrated on November 16, a number of cultural and sporting events are planned.

According to the event plan, cultural events are to be held tomorrow in palaces and parks of culture of all regions, cities and districts of the country, as well as various presentations at the State Circus and theatres. Entrance to all cultural events is free.

On November 16, in the buildings of the National Library, libraries of regions, cities and districts will be organized exhibitions of books of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. In the national museums for the presentation of creativity of the Leader of the Nation, paintings devoted to this subject, November 16 will be declared a Day of open doors.

In higher, secondary and primary educational institutions the exhibition of books, including new books of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan “Chehrai mondagor” and “Zabon — hastii millat”, as well as courses and lectures on presentations of books of the Leader of the Nation will take place. In pre-school institutions will be held a competition for the best drawing on the theme “The President – through the eyes of children”.

In military units and higher military educational institutions  meetings are scheduled with scientists, politics, poets and writers on the subject of “Loyalty to the President — Loyalty to the Homeland”.

On this day, competitions in various kinds of sports are also to take place in sports halls of the country .

Students of Khatlon region will visit secondary educational institution No. 7 of Danghara district and vocational-technical lyceum of Sarband town where the President of the Republic of Tajikistan studied.

On November 16, large posters with images of the President of the country under the slogan “Our President — Our Leader!” will be installed in the centers of regions, cities and districts.

It should be recalled that on April 15 this year, the deputies of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan made amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On holidays”. The amendments to this Law were made taking into account an outstanding contribution of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the construction of modern state, revival of national statehood, ensuring peace and national unity, increasing the credibility and image of Tajikistan at the international arena.

Deputy of Majlisi namoyandagon Mavluda Qalandarzoda, commenting the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On holidays”, stressed that the decision to declare the Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan as a holiday is in no way associated with the personality, and is a fateful day that determined the further progressive development of Tajikistan. In addition, this date is an important state stage and the beginning of the execution of the Presidency in the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with standards of the newly passed Constitution.

It should be noted that the XVI session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan took place in the city of Khujand on November 16, 1992, in an extremely difficult situation for Tajik people, where Emomali Rahmon was elected by the deputies as the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, and, then, in 1994, in presidential elections as the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
