Meeting with Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari
In the city of Delhi, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with the Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha (Council of States) — Upper Chamber of the Parliament of this country, Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
At the meeting the sides discussed the issues of continued development and expansion of multifaceted relations between Tajikistan and India.
It was stressed that a permanent political dialogue at the highest level is considered an important factor in the strengthening of friendly relations and on this basis close inter-parliamentary ties can also significantly contribute to the improvement, replenishment of new meaning and content in bilateral and multilateral partnership of Tajikistan and India.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that in the future the parliaments of the two countries will make a more active contribution to the creation of an enabling framework for the further development of the Tajik-Indian relations in politics, security, economy, trade, investment, education and culture.
The expansion of economic and military partnership between the two countries has been named an important factor in ensuring the significant social and economic development of Afghanistan, regional security and the fight against the negative phenomena of the modern world.
The meeting also discussed other issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and India within the framework of membership in major regional and international organizations.
