National Bank of Tajikistan, World Bank to strengthen cooperation
Dushanbe, 06.12.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. World Bank Represantation’s delegation headed by Mr. Johannes Linn, Executive Director of the Wolfensohn Center for Development visited the National Bank of Tajikistan on December 5.
According to NBT press service, the Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda informed guests about the macroeconomic situation, noting that the World Bank’s cooperation with the banking system of Tajikistan is constantly improving and their financial support is more significant in formation of the country’s banking structure.
“During the meeting the parties talked about the various aspects of financial sector development, existing opportunities and strategy of the National Bank of Tajikistan on the strengthening of banks. They agreed to establish mutual cooperation for the solution of issues related to the financial and banking system», — it is stated in the message of NBT.
At the meeting Mr. Johannes Linn was accompanied by Ms. Lilia Burunciuc, the World Bank Country Director for Central Asia, Dr. Sascha Djumena, Country Program Coordinator for Central Asia and Ms. Patricia Veevers-Carter, World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan based in Dushanbe.
