Airstrike killed IS commander in eastern Afghan province
DUSHANBE, 02.02.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Air raid against Islamic State (IS, banned in Tajikistan) group has killed a local commander of the armed militants in the eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reports citing the spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani.
«Acting upon intelligence report a drone attack conducted against IS rebels in Achin district at noon time today as a result, the notorious commander Shahid Omar was killed,» Khogiani told reporters here.
Shahid Omar, according to the official, was commander of 45 militants in Achin district who had organized subversive activities in Achin and adjoining areas.
