DCA detained 14 people being in the international wanted list
DUSHANBE, 03.02.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Drug Control Agency /DCA/ under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan has detained 14 people in the course of operations in 2016, who were in the international wanted list. It was stated at a press conference by the head of DCA Lieutenant General of Justice Sherkhon Salimzoda on Thursday February 2.
According to him, the Agency has identified and prevented the activity of 62 criminal groups, of which 4 were organized.
“In addition, in the course of joint operations of the Drug Control Agency /DCA/ under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Afghan National Police one clandestine laboratory for manufacturing drugs was destroyed”, — noted Salimzoda, adding that “in general, over the past few years of cooperation the agencies of the two countries have destroyed 53 such laboratories.
The head of DCA of the country emphasized that for many years Tajikistan and Afghanistan have an active joint struggle on seizure and destruction of drugs. In particular, for the reporting period within the cooperation with the Afghan National Police 8 operational events were conducted.
According to the head of DCA, just last year 11 joint operations with law enforcement agencies of foreign countries were conducted as a result of which from illegal trafficking over 505 kg of drugs were seized.
