Yusuf Rahmon: “Joining of Tajik citizens to the ranks of extremist and terrorist organizations reduced”
DUSHANBE, 17.02.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. “The joining of citizens of Tajikistan to the ranks of extremist and terrorist organizations in 2016 reduced by 5 times compared to 2015”, — it was stated by Yusuf Rahmon, General Prosecutor of the Republic of Tajikistan in his report at the ninth session of Majlisi milli (Upper House) Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan that was held on February 16 here in Dushanbe.
General Prosecutor added that for this period, the prosecutor organs of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with other relevant agencies and citizens have strengthened the fight against modern threats, especially involving young people and citizens to extremist and terrorist movements, as well as will take concrete measures in this direction.
Yusuf Rahmon noted that in 2016 on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan 230 websites that propagandized the inhumane phenomena of extremism and terrorism were found and blocked.
Also, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has developed and passed “National Strategy on Countering Terrorism and Extremism for the period of 2016-2020” that is considered an effective step towards the fight against extremism, terrorism, and other negative phenomena of the modern time.
