Death toll of Kabul explosions rises to 17 people
DUSHANBE, 02.03.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The death toll has risen to 17 while 119 others were wounded in twin suicide bombings which struck Afghan capital Kabul on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reports citing local media Tolo News on Thursday.
«The latest figures released by health authorities said that 17 people were killed and 119 wounded by Wednesday’s terrorist attacks in Kabul,» the report said.
On Wednesday, Taliban militants attacked a police station with a massive car bomb in west side of the city while at the same time they launched another suicide bombing against a national intelligence agency office in east of the city.
Most of the wounded sustained injuries by shrapnel and flying glasses following the powerful explosion on police station, which is located near a military school in a crowded area.
Among the injured, about 25 people remained in critical condition, the report added.
Some four or five militants were involved in the twin attacks, but further details about the incident are still forthcoming amid the absence of any official statement.
