The US and Tajikistan intend to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation on emergency situation
At US Embassy’s initiative, Rustam Nazarzoda, the Chairman of Committee on emergency situations and civil defense has met with Daniel Rosenblum, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asia at the U.S. Department of State.
Also attending the meeting was US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan Elizabeth Millard.
The Issues related to further expansion of bilateral cooperation in reducing disaster risks were discussed during the meeting.
The Head of the CoES and civil defense of Tajikistan Rustam Nazarzoda reportedly briefed Deputy Assistant Secretary on measures taken by the Government of Tajikistan to reduce disaster risks.
The parties also discussed issues addressing training and retraining of rescuers of Tajikistan in case of emergency situations.
Daniel Rosenblum expressed his satisfaction with the strengthening of relations between the United States and Tajikistan in all areas, especially in the field of prevention and liquidation of consequences of emergency situations.
He stressed that the US is interested in further developing relations in the field of reducing disaster risks.
