Memorandum on Cooperation between NIAT “Khovar” and “Xinhua” Agency signed in Beijing
DUSHANBE, 01.09. 2017 / NIAT “Khovar”/. As we reported, yesterday in Beijing following the results of the top-level meetings and talks in the presence and with the participation of the heads of states Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping 13 new documents on cooperation were signed. The Memorandum on Cooperation between the National Information Agency of Tajikistan “Khovar” and the Information Agency of China “Xinhua” was among them.
“According to the signed document, our agencies will exchange information materials, in particular, the agencies will closely cooperate in organizing and providing information coverage of visits of heads of states and official delegations of the two countries, other interstate events in the territories of Tajikistan and China”, said NIAT “Khovar” Director Saidali Siddiq.
According to him, this is very important, given the fact that the Leader of our Nation Emomali Rahmon today named China as a reliable friend and sincere partner of Tajikistan.
We will recall that today, September 1, the President of Tajikistan in his speech at the University of Xinhua (China) said: “The People’s Republic of China enjoys great prestige on the international arena, actively participates in modern processes of world politics and economy, and plays a constructive and creative role in ensuring global stability and security. Tajikistan regards China as a faithful friend and sincere partner, and we are pleased with its rapid progress and sustainable development”.
Director of NIAT “Khovar” also noted that the two agencies will jointly carry out a number of events in order to exchange experience and raise the level of professionalism, as our agencies, as he said, “have a huge baggage of history, experience, skill and traditions: “Khovar” and “Xinhua”, founded almost simultaneously — in the late 20’s and early 30’s of the last century, and they are the largest news agencies in the region”.
We will remind that the Xinhua Agency, as “Khovar” agency in Tajikistan, is the state news agency of the People’s Republic of China. “Xinhua”, which in Chinese means “New China”, was founded in 1931, and, until January 1937, was called “Red China”.
Currently, the agency Xinhua employs more than eight thousand people. In each province, city of central subordination and autonomous region of China, there are branches of the agency, as well as correspondent points in more than 50 cities of the country. In addition, “Xinhua” has branches in 105 countries.
More than 40 thematic publications are issued under the direct management of “Xinhua”. Xinhua covers the news around the world in seven languages. The agency issues more than a thousand news per day and provides information on at least 306 radio stations, 369 TV stations, 2119 newspapers and 9038 periodicals. On July 1, 2010, Xinhua launched the twenty-four-hour satellite channel CNC World in English.
