Dushanbe hosts a mini-football tournament for the Mayor’s Cup
DUSHANBE, 24.10.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On Friday, October 20, a mini-football tournament for the Mayor’s Cup started at the mini-venues of the Dushanbe Central Republican Stadium. The event was organized by the Executive body of state authority of Dushanbe city in honor of the Day of the President of Tajikistan, which is marked in the country on November 16.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ahtam Abdullozoda, the Chairman of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor Deputy Mavsuma Muini, FFT Vice President Alisher Urunov, FFD Chairman Anvarsho Mirzoyev and Dushanbe Sports Facilities Director Rahmatsho Kamolov. In their speeches they warmly greeted the participants and wished the footballers a fascinating struggle, beautiful victories, and the audience — to see many goals.
We will recall that the tournament is attended by 48 teams, which are divided into 8 groups.
According to the rules of the tournament, following preliminary games two best teams will reach next round and then the games will be held on the Olympic system with the elimination. The 1/8 finals and 1/4 finals matches are scheduled for November 5th and November 11. Semi-final matches will be held on November 12, and the final match for the main prize — on November 16 at 7:00 pm.
