Tajikistan is interested in increasing an effective cooperation with the United Nations in implementing programmes aimed at achieving SDGs — Foreign Minister
DUSHANBE, 25.10.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov convened a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Pratibha Mehta and the Heads of UN agencies, operating in Tajikistan. The meeting was dedicated to the UN Day and the 25th anniversary of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Nations. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the MFA Information Department of the country.
As source reports, the Foreign Minister S. Aslov congratulated the representatives of the UN agencies on these significant events and marked the important role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges of our time.
“During the meeting the issues of current cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations institutions and the perspective of further cooperation were discussed, — says the source adding — the parties had also an exchange of views on UN agencies projects and programs, being implemented in the Republic of Tajikistan”.
It is also reported that in conclusion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with the existing high level partnership and highlighted the commitment of Tajikistan for increasing an effective cooperation with the United Nations in implementing programmes aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
