DUSHANBE, 09.01.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The successful performance in the AFC Cup allowed the Tajik champion Dushanbe’s FC “Istiqlol” to raise even higher in the football clubs ranking of the Asian Football Confederation.

According to the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, FC “Istiqlol” entered the Top-70 of the AFC football clubs ranking as a result of the football season-2017. According to the portal globalfootballranks.com, the Dushanbe’s club made a big jump and for the last two years it raised from the 105th position to 69th in the AFC football clubs ranking. Two-time finalists of the AFC Cup have an asset of 20,476 points. During three season performances in the second most important club tournament in Asia, “Istiqlol” held 29 games: 12 wins, 7 draws and 10 losses. The goal difference is 45-37. The Top-5 clubs of Asia are Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Al-Ain (UAE), “Guangzhou Evergreen” (China), FC “Seoul” (South Korea) and “Chenbuk Hyundai Motors” (South Korea).

We will recall that thanks to the successful performance of “Istiqlol” on the fields of Asia, Tajikistan raised to the 12th position among the 46 AFC national federations and to the 7th place in the “Western” zone, which gives the right to play in the AFC Champions League preliminary round in the seasons — 2019-2020.
