THE SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY FROM TAJIKISTAN TO UZBEKISTAN STARTED TODAY! After 9 years of separation of the energy system of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, electricity supply between the neighboring republics resumed
DUSHANBE, 02.04.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Today at 16:50, the power line from the Regar substation (Tajikistan) to the Gulcha substation (Uzbekistan) was put under tension. Thus, the supply of electricity from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan has resumed! The ceremony of connection in the Open Joint Stock Holding Company “Barki Tojik” was directly observed by correspondents of NIAT “Khovar” Marziya SAID and Bek RAHMONI.
So, after 9 years of separation, the energy systems of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reconnected. The supply of electricity from Tajikistan to neighboring Uzbekistan resumed, which is another evidence of the beginning of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states.
We will recall that during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Tajikistan on March 9-10 this year, along with other documents, an agreement on mutual deliveries of electricity was signed.
Tajik and Uzbek energy officials expressed satisfaction with the resumption of the exchange of electricity supplies on a regular basis between the two countries.
Experts believe that the mutual supply of electricity between the two neighboring countries will contribute to improving the supply of electricity to the people and economies of the two countries and, thereby, will positively effect on changes in the lives of the people of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and the economies of the two countries, as well as will help allow to develop various sectors of the economy of both countries.
