Permanent Representatives of a number of foreign countries at the UN highly appreciated Dushanbe conference
DUSHANBE, 20.06.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. “The results of the High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 will be important at the plenary event of the high-level political forum to be held July this year in New York”, — the group of Permanent Representatives of a number of foreign countries at the United Nations told yesterday, June 19 after meeting with the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
In particular, the President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Marie Chatardová said that most countries are facing water problems. As it was noted during the meeting, this problem cannot be solved without collective assistance and support. After eliminating this problem, it is possible to achieve poverty reduction and other Sustainable Development Goals.
“The initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon is one of the important world initiatives. The results of the High-Level Conference will have a positive impact on further actions in this direction”, — she said.
A group of Permanent Representatives noted with satisfaction that Tajikistan is the guide and initiator of water issues in the United Nations and expressed confidence that with the efforts and support of a group of Permanent Representatives of countries at the UN this issue will be widely promoted for the benefit of humanity in the future.
The President of ECOSOC and a group of Permanent Representatives of a number of foreign countries at the UN will attend the International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 to be started today in Dushanbe.
