DUSHANBE, 10.07.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The junior football team of Tajikistan led by coach Hikmat Fuzailov took third place at the CAFA championship in Tashkent.

According to the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship (U-16), which was attended by teams of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan, ended on July 9 in Tashkent.

The junior team of Tajikistan, composed of pupils of the Football Academy of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, held three games (one victory and two defeats) and won bronze medals. The champion became the junior team of Uzbekistan, which won three victories in three games.

At the award ceremony, which took place on July 9 at the Tashkent Lokomotiv Stadium, the winners were awarded with medals of the corresponding degrees, as well as best players got individual prizes.

The closing ceremony of the championship was attended by the President of the Central Asian Football Association, First Vice-President of the Football Association of Uzbekistan Umid Ahmadjonov, Secretary General of the Football Association of Uzbekistan Sardor Rahmatullaev, Director General of the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan Omon Gafurov and head of the Department of International Relations of the Asian Football Confederation Vahid Cardani.
