DUSHANBE, 01.08.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. By the instruction of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon was created a tourist police department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It was said during the meeting that was held in the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Numon Abdughafforzoda, the head of the militia department for the environment of Interior Ministry Anvarjon Alizoda and the heads of 43 tourism companies.

According to the press service of the given ministry, Anvarjon Alizoda provided detailed information on the formation of the new department.

“The tasks of the new office include: protecting public order and security, accompanying tourists, providing necessary information and assistance, protecting interests, preventing crime”, — he explained.

It was noted that, if necessary, tourists can travel around the country accompanied by the staff of the tourist police department, who will ensure their safety.

The staff of the department is fluent in several foreign languages.
