Dushanbe and Qingdao became sister cities
DUSHANBE, 18.09.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Today, the Chairman of the Dushanbe city Rustami Emomali met with Qingdao delegation of the People’s Republic of China chaired by the Mayor of Qingdao city Meng Fanli, who is in the capital of Tajikistan on a working visit.
According to the Department of Public Information and External Affairs at Dushanbe mayor’s office, during the meeting between the Executive body of state authority of Dushanbe city and People’s Government of Qingdao city was signed the Protocol on the establishment of the sister cities relations. This document was signed by the Mayor of Dushanbe city Rustami Emomali and by the Mayor of Qingdao city Meng Fanli.
The issues related to the implementation of cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, education, tourism and other interested sectors were also discussed at the meeting.
The two parties noted the contribution of heads of both countries — the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping in the strengthening and expansion of friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation.
The parties focused on issues of cooperation in light industry, processing of food, technology, tourism, education and investment in these important areas of economy of Dushanbe.
It should be noted that to date Dushanbe city has established sister cities relations with Urumqi city (10th of September 1999), Xiamen city (20th of June 2013) and the Hainan Province of China (21st of August 2017).
