Dushanbe will be CIS cultural capital in 2021
DUSHANBE, 26.09.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Chairman of the Executive Committee — Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev highly assessed the chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan in the CIS.
Sergey Lebedev, after meeting with the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, which was held today at the Palace of the Nation, held a briefing for a wide range of journalists.
During the briefing, S. Lebedev said that at the upcoming summit will be taken the decisions to declare 2021 the Year of Architecture and Urban Development in the CIS, as well as grant Dushanbe city the CIS cultural capital status in 2021.
According to him, the heads of state will exchange views on cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as discuss issues related to the chairmanship in the Commonwealth, the date and venue of the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State.
The meeting will also consider a set of issues aimed at further development of cooperation in key areas of the Commonwealth.
