Second round of Georgian presidential election to be held not later than December 2
DUSHANBE, 29.10.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The second round of the Georgian presidential election will be held not later than on December 2, 2018, Chairwoman of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) Tamar Zhvania told journalists at a briefing in Tbilisi on Monday, reported TASS News Agency.
She stated that «with regard to the preliminary results of the election that was held on October 28, it can be said that there will be the second round.» «The holding of the second round has special procedures,» she said. «In case all the election disputes that we have — complaints, mainly procedure-and discipline-related — are studied in the time limits, then the summing up and release of the ultimate results of the election will be carried out in a 20-day term after the October 28 election,» Zhvania said.
She reported that «after the final results are released, the second round is to be held in two weeks, with the time limit for the second round being December 2.».
