Introduction of the draft resolution on the Midterm comprehensive review of the implementation of the International Decade of Action Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028
DUSHANBE, 09.11.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 8, at the meeting of the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly there was presented the draft resolution of the delegation of Tajikistan on Midterm review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.
According to the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the United Nations, this resolution was developed in the framework of the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”. The resolution was represented in the Second Committee by the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov, on behalf of the 148 co-sponsor states.
One of the important goals of this resolution is convening the United Nations Conference on the Midterm Review of the Implementation of the International Decade for Action Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028 on March 22-24, 2023 in New York. Wrapping up his speech, M. Mahmadaminov called upon all UN member-states to support this draft resolution.
