DUSHANBE, 08.11.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherkhon Salimzoda on Nobember 7 met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan Mrs. Yasmine Gouedard, agency’s press service reports.

According to the source, Sherkhon Salimzoda informed ambassador about the drug situation, the main drug transportation routes, the detection and prevention of drug-related crimes in comparison with other Central Asian countries, as well as introduced agency’s goals, objectives and structure.

Yasmine Gouedard thanked the Director of the Agency for the information provided and noted that it helps to realize what measures the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is taking in the fight against drug trafficking.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of cooperation between the Agency and French authorities in the sphere of detection and prevention of crimes related to drug trafficking, organizing and conducting trainings, building of stadiums and sports grounds in rural areas of the country, which contribute to the prevention of drug addiction and promotion of healthy lifestyle among the population.
