MegaFon Tajikistan Received an Award for Promoting Tourism
DUSHANBE, 11.12.2018. (NIAT Khovar) – On December 6, the mobile carrier MegaFon Tajikistan received an award in the largest communication contest in Eastern Europe, Eventiada IPRA Golden World Awards 2018.
Megafon’s creative road show “Digital Silk Road Project” received an award for the best project in the category of corporate communications, reported the Committee on Tourism Development of Tajikistan (CTD).
The road show, in which several journalists and bloggers took part, was created with the aim of attracting tourists to Tajikistan and to showcase the reliability of the mobile operator on the tourist routes of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
Local, as well as Russian and Uzbek journalists and bloggers, traveled a total of 2,350 kilometers. The trip’s route included unique cultural heritage sites, which are little known abroad, in particular the Kalai-khumb village, which was the capital of the Darvoz Kingdom, ancient Karon, a unique Buddhist complex Wrang, the Kulma Pass with its altitude of 4,365 meters
(MegaFon’s highest base station), and petroglyphs in the Langar mountains. The tour provided the participants with an opportunity to impart unique information to their readers.
“This year, with the government support, the CTD jointly with its partners have organized a number of events and projects, in addition to the ‘Digital Silk Road Project,’ to showcase the country’s tourist potential in the global tourism market,” said Abdukarim Kurbonov, a specialist at the CDT.
“Today we are very pleased that this project received an award. Thanks to jointly organized events, today our country has become more an attractive destination for other countries,” added Kurbonov.
Projects from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Croatia, and Estonia were also presented to the Eventiada IPRA Golden World Awards for nomination.
“In the Year of Tourism Development, declared by the president of Tajikistan, we wanted to create a truly interesting and productive project to showcase our beautiful country,” said Valentina Butnik, Megafon Tajikistan’s director of public relations.
“I think our own emotions manifested themselves in everything that we did for the project and finally, we brought the contest’s award to Tajikistan,” added Butnik.
The “Digital Silk Road Project” was implemented with the support of the CTD and the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan.
