Representative of Tajikistan Heads SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure
DUSHANBE, 03.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A representative of Tajikistan Jumahon Giyosov became the director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (RATS SCO).
“Since January 1, by the decision of the Council of SCO Heads of State, the representative of Tajikistan Jumahon Giyosov is heading the RATS SCO,” reported the Press Centre of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2017–2018, Giyosov was the deputy director of the Executive Committee of the RATS SCO and had previously held senior positions in the State Committee for National Security and the Committee on Religious Affairs, Regulation of Traditions and Rituals under the Government of Tajikistan.
RATS is headquartered in the capital of Uzbekistan and is a permanent organ of the SCO, which serves to promote cooperation of member states against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
