(NIAT Khovar) – Russia’s Special Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan and Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second Asian Department Zamir Kabulov expressed lack of awareness about the possible movement of members of the Islamic State, which is banned in Tajikistan, from Pakistan to Central Asia through helicopters.
On January 29, Kabulov met with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad. In an interview with TASS, he said that the Pakistani authorities were surprised at the recent statement by the Russian Deputy Minister of the Interior Igor Zubov.
Earlier on Monday, Zubov stated that ISIL militants “are en mass moving from Pakistan to the borders of Tajikistan by helicopters.” Kabulov said that he has no information regarding this.
Kabulov is on an official visit to Pakistan, during which he will discuss the situation and crisis in Afghanistan with the Pakistani authorities.
