Dilshod Nazarov Elected Chairman of the Athletics Federation for Middle Asia
DUSHANBE, 22.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The 23rd Asian Athletics Congress was held on Saturday, April 10 in Doha, Qatar.
During this meeting, the well-known Tajik athlete, Olympic champion, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Athletics Federation Dilshod Nazarov was elected for two positions. Nazarov will serve as the chairman of the Athletics Federation for Middle Asia and the chairman of the Athletes’ Commission of the Association of Asian Athletics Federations, reported the Press Center of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the government of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Dahlan Al- Hamad of Qatar was reelected as president of the Asian Athletics Association and will serve until 2023. The well-known Tajik athlete, 1992 Olympic champion and 1993 world champion Andrei Abduvaliev will serve as the new vice president.
Nazarov was awarded the Asian Best Hammer Thrower prize with the support of the heads of the Athletics Federations of the Asian continent.
