Tajikistan and Russia’s Joint 7th Conference on Interregional Cooperation Begins Tomorrow
DUSHANBE, 15.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The 7th Conference on Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan will be held on April 16-17 in Moscow, reports Khovar’s correspondent.
The conference organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with the support of the Roscongress Foundation will be held as part of the visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Russian Federation. The aim of the visit is to expand practical cooperation between the two countries, their business circles and organizations.
The first day will include round tables on the key areas of cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia. Participants will discuss issues of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, logistics, industry, development of mechanisms for investment, trade, education and culture. Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan, rectors of Russian universities, senior officials, representatives of business circles, public figures and experts are expected to participate.
The conference will also host the Tajik-Russian youth forum called A Common Path to the Economy of the Future, which will be held tomorrow at the Congress Center in Moscow. The forum organizers, the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the government of Tajikistan, will hold thematic sessions and presentations on the topic of volunteering, youth entrepreneurship, start-ups and tourism development.
A memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed between the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the government of Tajikistan. The signing of an agreement on expanding cooperation between the Russian Youth Union and public organization Youth Union of Tajikistan is also planned.
The central event of the business program will be a plenary session with the participation of representatives of the ministries of economic development of both countries. Following the plenary session, several bilateral agreements and memorandums of cooperation are planned between Tajikistan and Russia.
The 6th Conference on Interregional Cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia was held on May 29, 2018 in Dushanbe.
