Ashgabat to Host a Meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government
DUSHANBE, 24.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) chaired by Turkmenistan, will be held on May 31 in Ashgabat.
The heads of delegations are expected to exchange views on topical issues concerning economic cooperation within the commonwealth, and to set a date and determine the location of the next meeting, reported the CIS Executive Committee.
Likewise discussed were ssues related to the preparation of the Intergovernmental Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS member states for the period until 2030 and the agreement on the interaction of the customs authorities of the CIS member states in the field of protection of intellectual property rights, the adoption of which should ensure strengthening and developing customs cooperation in the Commonwealth space, as well as creating legal frameworks for the exchange between customs authorities.
The documents which regulate the expansion of cooperation between the CIS countries in the field of trade, customs clearance and control of goods, their transit through the territories of the commonwealth countries, as well as in the field of basic research and museum work are also expected to be signed.
The heads of government will also adopt a decree on the appointment of the First Deputy Head of the CIS Antiterrorist Center.
