DUSHANBE, 03.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Per instructions and orders of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, eighty-four Tajik children whose parents had joined the ranks of the terrorist and extremist organization Islamic State in Iraq and Syria were brought to Tajikistan on April 30 by a special flight from Baghdad to Dushanbe. This is an indication that President Emomali Rahmon attaches special importance to the fate of Tajik children. In this regard, the First Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Tajikistan Ato Mirkhoja shared his opinion.

“President Emomali Rahmon is a model of devotional service to the Motherland and selfless allegiance to his word. Since the very first day of his assumption of the position of president he vowed to establish peace and repatriate all refugees to their homeland. Emomali Rahmon shows special care for orphans, the disabled and low-income families. Therefore, he rightly enjoys popular love”, said Mirkhoja.

President Emomali Rahmon calls to surround orphans and the poor with attention, considering this a noble human quality. Following this appeal, in the years of independence, hundreds of orphans were adopted by caring people.

With the support of President Emomali Rahmon, dozens of boarding schools have been opened. Since the first days of his activity as the head of state, he put great effort to repatriate refugees from Afghanistan, said Mirkhoja.

“While at least one Tajik remains a refugee, I will not know calmness and I will do everything possible so that all refugees will be returned to their homeland, — it is a quote from one of the first speeches of the President in that tragic period for the Tajik people. In August 1993, despite the alarming situation and danger, he flew to Afghanistan. The main purpose of his visit was to repatriate people who were forced to leave their homeland during the fratricidal war. Thanks to the incredible efforts of Emomali Rahmon, tens of thousands of refugees were repatriate to their native Tajikistan, to their places of residence. Among them were many small children, who today are full-fledged citizens of their independent country,” continued  Mirkhoja.

Today, even in well-off countries, children are not always safe. We know of  school shootings in European countries and America where children are taken hostage. Even in mosques where they pray to God, there are explosions and terrorist attacks. Therefore, President of Tajikistan always urges us to cherish peace and tranquility and to preserve and strengthen them.

“A few years ago, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon visited an orphanage in the Varzob district. When he talked to the orphaned children, his eyes were filled with tears. At one of the meetings with representatives of intelligentsia, the President said that when he sees orphans, he can not explain why it happened. President Rahmon regularly visits orphanages and always says to orphans to ‘be sure, I am always with you and for you and will always keep you safe.'»

«It should also be said that Emomali Rahmon obliges ministries and departments, entrepreneurs and businessmen to provide assistance to orphanages,” adds Mirkhoja.

President Rahmon’s attitude toward children, especially orphans, suggests that for people who have joined terrorist groups, there is nothing sacred, for them the homland, parents and children whom they gave life to,  mean nothing. It seems that such people have clouded minds. The repatriated children will be under the control of the state and the government. Doctors and psychologists will work with them. All the conditions will be created for them to help them recover from the horrors which they have seen in Iraq and Syria, said Mirkhoja.

“These children will never forget the paternal care of President Emomali Rahmon and will become worthy and loyal citizens of independent Tajikistan,” concluded Mirkhoja.
