European Council President Tusk: Tajikistan is an Important Partner for the European Union
DUSHANBE, 31.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – “Tajikistan remains an important and strategic partner for the European Union,” stated yesterday the European Council President Donald Tusk at a press conference following the meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
“The European Union is ready to assist Tajikistan’s access in European markets and to create the necessary conditions”, Tusk added.
“My visit took place after the adoption of the new EU strategy for Central Asia. I am the first European Council President, who visited Tajikistan, and it is an indicator of support for strong cooperation with Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan,” Tusk recalled.
“The regional location of Tajikistan is strategically important and that role, which plays Tajikistan between Europe and Asia, will open new pages for modern partnership,” he concluded.
