Over 650 Foreign and Local Journalists are Covering the CICA Summit in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 15.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – More than 650 foreign and local media representatives were accredited to cover the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building-Measures in Asia (CICA), which takes place today in Dushanbe. The summit is chaired by Tajikistan.
The summit is being covered by journalists from China, Canada, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Iran, Cambodia, Turkey, India, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Iraq and the European Union.
The summit is held in the Kokhi Navruz building. The press center, which can accommodate 450 people, is equipped with phones, fax and copying machines, stationary and 350 computers connected to high-speed internet.
The summit is being broadcast live on both floors with devices available for its simultaneous translation into Russian, English and Chinese.
Yesterday, representatives of foreign media were taken on an excursion through the historical and cultural sites of Dushanbe. They were taken on a tour of the Park Rudaki, Park of Cyrus the Great, National Library of Tajikistan and other sites of the capital.
Tajikistan, as the CICA chair, is committed to ensuring cooperation between the member states in strengthening peace, stability and sustainable development in the Asian continent.
The Dushanbe CICA Summit will serve an important and effective platform for discussing the problems and challenges in the region, their possible solutions, and will contribute to making Asia a continent of peace, stability and sustainable development.
