DUSHANBE, 20.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Every tourist who arrives in Tajikistan will receive a free Tcell travel SIM card.

The SIM card is valid for 10 days without registration.

Such an agreement was reached by the Tourist Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and the telecommunication operator Tcell.

All tourists that are 18 years and older can recieve the free SIM cards at the Tourist Police Department at the Dushanbe International Airport and at all border points. They can also send their application for a free SIM card to the Tourist Police Department before their arrival through local travel agencies, reported the Press Center of the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The free SIM card comes with 100 minutes and 100 megabytes of internet, which can be used for 10 days. Also, the recipients of tourist SIM cards can contact the Tourist Police free of charge. Call center operators will provide the necessary information to tourists in several foreign languages, including Russian, English and Chinese.

The tourist SIM cards will automatically notify the holder of all major cultural events and natural disasters in the country.  In order to get a tourist SIM card, a foreign citizen will need to present a passport and his e-visa (if the SIM card is requested in advance).

It is reported that in the near future, with the assistance of the Tourist Police, a mobile application Salom, Tajikistan and a tourist passport will be developed with additional services and information that will simplify the tourists’ stay in Tajikistan.
