Call from the US to the Tajik Interior Ministry’s Hotline Helps Save Man
DUSHANBE, 15.07..2019 (NIAT Khovar) — A call from the United States to the Tajik Interior Ministry’s hotline helped save a man, according to the press center of the Tajik Interior Ministry.
On July 13, the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan received a call to its hotline (221-21-21) from a US citizen named Alejandro. He introduced himself as an employee of an agency carrying out rescue operations in the US.
The man said that he had received calls from two foreign tourists from Tajikistan who reported about a Tajik national who required emergency assistance. They also reported his coordinates,” stated the Interior Ministry’s press center.
The Interior Ministry contacted the Emergencies Committee and established that the call from the two foreign tourists was made from the Vanj district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
A rescue team was then sent to the incident site. The 53-year-old resident of Dushanbe Fayzullo Yunusov had lost control of his car, which had turned over in an area between the Shirgovad and Durshed village near the Vanjob River.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the tourists Kurch Kraiker and Kamir Burchush provided the first emergency assistance to the driver and reported the incident to the USA via the GPRS satellite.
The Emergencies Committee staff hospitalized the victim in the Vanj district, where he currently remains.
“The Interior Ministry of Tajikistan expresses gratitude to Mr. Alejandro and the foreign tourists – nationals of the Netherlands Kurch Kraiker and Kamir Burchush – for their assistance and rendering first aid to the Tajik citizen,” said the Interior Ministry’s press center.
