Tajik National Bank Discuss Implementation Of Digital CASA Project With World Bank
DUSHANBE, 11.07.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Nuraliev met with a delegation from the World Bank including the its Country Manager in Tajikistan Jan-Peter Olters and the Manager of the Digital Development Global Practice Juan Navas-Sabater to discuss issues related to implementation of the Digital CASA Tajikistan Project.
The purpose of the World Bank representatives’ visit is to finalize and coordinate the measures set forth in the Digital CASA project and the mechanism of its financing.
Nuraliev noted the importance and the necessity of developing Tajikistan’s digital economy and praised the project.
The objective of the Digital Central Asia and South Asia Project is to provide access to high-speed internet networks in the country, including in remote areas, to enhance digital financial inclusion, digital market expansion and e-government.
According to Nuraliev, this project will facilitate Tajikistan’s economic growth and development, including by creating the necessary digital infrastructure and favorable conditions for regional integration, and the creation of new jobs.
