Tajikistan’s Youth Team Won the Silver Medal at CAFA U-19 Championship 2019
DUSHANBE, 16.08.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The championship of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U-19 ended in Dushanbe.
According to its results, the national team of Tajikistan recieved the silver medal. The champion of the tournament became the Iranian youth team, reported the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
In the final and fifth round, Tajik youth tied with their Iranian peers with a score of 1-1 and but could not defeat them to win the gold.
In another match, Uzbek youth defeated their Turkmen peers with a score of 2-0.
Thus, according to the results of the CAFA U-19 Championship 2019, the Iranian youth team with 10 points won the gold medal. The silver medal went to the youth team of Tajikistan, which had 8 points. The Uzbek team with 5 points ranked third and got the bronze medal.
The Fair Play Prize was awarded to the Iranian team. The best scorer of the tournament was the striker of the Tajik youth team Shahrom Samiev, who scored 4 goals. The prize of the most useful player of the tournament was received by the goalkeeper of the Iranian team Amir Hossein Nikpur, who missed only one goal in the championship.
