Tajik Judokas Rise in the Updated Rating of the International Judo Federation
DUSHANBE, 03.09.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The International Judo Federation (IJF) published a new Olympic rating following the World Judo Championship, which was held from August 25 through September 1 in Tokyo, Japan.
According to the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports of Tajikistan, eight Tajik judokas participated in the World Judo Championships.
Behruz Khojazoda and Somon Mahmadbekov ranked 5th place and each got 720 points.
In the updated Olympic rating, Tajik judokas take the following places: Behruz Khojazoda took 15th place (formerly 33rd) and Somon Makhmadbekov 20th (formerly 37th). Temur Rahimov and Shakarmamad Shakarmamadov who performed in the weight category over 100 kg took 24th (formerly 29th) and 42nd places (formerly 65th) and each got 320 points.
According to the rating results and the number of points earned, judokas will receive tickets to the 2020 Olympic Games, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan.
