Tajik Coach Turdiev Says His Team’s Main Task to Reach the Asian Championship 2020
DUSHANBE, 16.09.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The qualifying tournament of the Asian U- 16 Championship 2020 in Group A started last Saturday in the Jordanian city of Zarka.
Tajikistan, Jordan, Kuwait, Nepal and Sri Lanka will compete among each other to qualify for the Asian Championship.
Tajik U-16’s head coach Ahliddin Turdiev said that his team’s main task is to reach the Asian Championship 2020.
“We purposefully prepared for the qualifying tournament of the Asian U-16 Championship 2020. Since the beginning of the year, our team took part in three international tournaments that were held in China, Dushanbe and Nur-Sultan. We also held six friendly matches against peers from Oman, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia. In total, we had about twenty international games this year,” said Turdiev.
“We thoroughly studied all our rivals in the qualifying tournament. The atmosphere in our team is good, the guys have a serious attitude. All players understand that this is an important tournament and it is important to play it successfully. Our team has one task, — to win and take part in the Asian U-16 Championship 2020. We will try to justify our hopes,” emphasized Turdiev.
Tajik U-16 team will hold its first match today against Sri Lanka at 19:00 Dushanbe time.
