DUSHANBE, 06.09.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The military personnel of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will conduct joint military exercises in the second half of September at the Gurusaray training grounds in the Namangan province of Uzbekistan.
The maneuvers will be held as part of the Center-2019 large-scale strategic command and staff exercises. Armed servicemen of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will fulfill tasks aimed at ensuring security in the region, reports the head of the Press Center of the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan Orif Nozimiyon.
During the exercises, interaction skills between troops in the fight against international terrorism, as well as their reconnaissance, search and defensive action skills will be developed.
The Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan held joint anti-terrorism exercises in mountainous areas earlier in August. Maneuvers took place in Tajikistan and in the Ferghana Valley of Uzbekistan.
The first joint exercises were held last year in the town of Chorukhdara in the Sughd province of Tajikistan.
