Tajikistan’s U-16 Football Team Moves on to the Asian Championship 2020
DUSHANBE, 23.09.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – After defeating Jordan with the score of 5-2 in the qualifying tournament, Tajik junior football players (U-16) are moving on to the Asian Championship 2020.
In the qualifying tournament, which was held from September 14 through September 22 in Jordan, Tajik juniors played and won all four matches, gaining 12 points.
Tajikistan in Group A along with India (Group B), Iran (Group C), Saudi Arabia (Group D), Qatar (Group E), UAE (Group F), China (Group G), Australia (Group H), DPRK (Group I), Japan (Group J), South Korea (Group K), Yemen (Group E), Indonesia (Group G), Uzbekistan (Group B) and Oman (Group D), will now be playing in the Asian Championship 2020, which will be held from September 16 through October 3 in Bahrain.
This will be the Tajik team’s fourth participation in the Asian Championship. Previously, the team had competed in 2006, 2010, winning silver in 2018.
